ACT Site Crashes as Families Desperately try to Register

The ACT site opened for fall registrations on 7/27 after canceling nearly all test dates between March and July. Almost immediately, the site began to experience technical failures. During the day, the ACT released the following statement:

“We are in the process of soft-launching a new registration system, which is experiencing some performance degradation due to unusually high demand. Many students affected by COVID-19-related test center closures and cancellations are attempting to register for fall test dates. We are working diligently to improve the experience for all users. If you have been impacted by summer testing cancellations, you will receive an email from us with further instructions."

After 6pm EST yesterday evening, the site released the following post:

“Due to high demand, we've taken the MyACT registration page down in order to improve system performance. We're sorry for the inconvenience and will communicate an update at 9:30 a.m. CT Tuesday, July 28. Please check back on our website and social media channels for updates.”

Lotus Tip: For rising junior and seniors families, we recommend that you register for as many test dates as possible. The technological issues coupled with the uncertainty of COVID_19 and future test dates makes it important that you have back up options. We know it is frustrating, but keep a close eye on the ACT page today, 7/28, as it reopens at 10:30am EST, 9:30am CST. You can access the ACT website here.
