AP Environmental Blast

Prepare Early, Prepare Better for your AP Exams with Lotus Premier Education! This class is perfect for students currently taking AP Environmental Science and looking for the most comprehensive review for their upcoming AP exam or for students taking AP Environmental next year who are interested in getting ahead on course material.

Dates and Curriculum:

  • Session 1 (4/13) 8pm - 9:30pm EST: Topic: APES Units 1, 2, 4. Highlights: Energy Flow and the 10% Rule, NPP/GPP, Carbon and Nitrogen Cycles, Island Biogeography, Ecological Succession, Plate Tectonics, Soil, Earth's Geography + Climate, and El Nino + La Nina. Time for a Q + A.

  • Session 2 (4/24) 8pm - 9:30pm EST: Topic: APES Units 3, 5, 6. Highlights: Age Structure Diagrams, Demographic Transition, Impacts of Agricultural Practices, Renewable and Nonrenewable Resources. Time for a Q + A.

  • Session 3 (4/27) 8pm - 9:30pm EST: Topic: APES Units 7, 8, 9. Highlights: Smog, Thermal Inversions, Acid Rain, Eutrophication, Thermal Pollution, Bioaccumulation + Biomagnification, Sewage Treatment, Solid Waste Disposal, LD50. Time for a Q + A.

  • Session 4 (5/8) 8pm - 9:30pm EST: FRQ Strategies + Practice. Final Q + A. 

Teacher Bio:

Catie is the Lotus Premier Education head teacher for Environmental Science. She is the Engineering + Entrepreneurship Program Head at Marlborough School in Los Angeles, CA. She holds her BA in Geological Science from Rutgers University. Prior to beginning her career in education, Catie worked as a Geologist in the Environmental Engineering and Consulting field. She received her MAT from Montclair State University and has been in Science education for the past thirteen years. At Marlborough, Catie has taught AP Environmental Science, 7th Grade Science and various Engineering courses. She also leads the Incubator program of the Frank & Eileen Accelerator Program for the Leaders of Tomorrow.
